About Sree Chitra Thirunal College Of Engineering

Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering (SCTCE), Thiruvananthapuram is one of the leading engineering institutions in the state of Kerala, established in the year 1995 affiliated to University of Kerala with AICTE approval. This College is one of the few colleges in the State having NBA accreditation and ISO 9001 : 2000 certification within a short span of time. SCTCE is also having the privilege of being one of the top six colleges in the state aided under the World Bank funded Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP).
The College is managed by a Board of Governors consisting of the Honourable Minister for Transport, Govt. of Kerala (Chairman), Principal Secretary - Higher Education, Principal Secretary - Finance, Secretary for Transport Department (Vice-Chairman), Managing Director of KSRTC, F.A & C.A.O of KSRTC, Director of Technical Education, two educationalists nominated by the Chairman, two nominees of AICTE, and the Principal of the College (Member Secretary).
This Institution is the manifestation of a long felt need to cater to the demands of the increasing number of graduates and undergraduates opting for Technical Education.The primary objective of the College is to promote education and research in the field of technology and to groom young men and women into technocrats, in whose hands the future of our nation is assured. Extensive links with research institute and industries (VSSC, C-DIT, TECHNOPARK, KAL, KSRTC, BRAHMOS etc.) have enabled SCTCE to maintain the vocational and practical bias to its courses.
Apart from an erudite and experienced faculty, the college also takes pride in its students have consistently topped the Kerala University B.Tech exams. A large number of our students secure high scores in the GATE, GRE, GMAT and CAT Examinations.The Alumni working in various industrial sectors across the world act as an interface between the College and the industry. Every year, a large number of companies visit the College for campus recruitment and the caliber of students recruited reinforces their trust in the Institution. The campus placement is nearing the 100% target, the highest in Kerala.
The College campus is situated at Pappanamcode, on the side of Thiruvananthapuram-Kanyakumari National highway, 5 km from Thiruvananthapuram central railway station and central bus station. It is situated at about 15 km from the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. It is easily accessible by road from any part of Thiruvananthapuram.
