MHT CET 2012 Description
Common Entrance Test (MHT CET)is conducted by the Government of Maharashtra for all health sciences, Engineering and Pharmacy degree courses. The Government of Maharashtra is appointed a Competent Authority for the MHT-CET 2012 for each streams. The merit list of the above said examination will be utilized for admission in: 1) Government / Municipal Corporation / Government Aided Colleges of Health Sciences degree courses. 2) Government /Government Aided / University Managed Colleges / University Departments/ Autonomous Institutions/ Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai (U.I.C.T) and Unaided Private Colleges (those colleges who have given consent to participate in respective year of MHT-CET 2012) of Engineering & Pharmacy degree courses 3) BVSc & AH degree course.

MHT CET 2012 Eligibility
Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed/appeared* the HSC (Std.XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and secured minimum 50% Marks (45% for Backward class categories belonging only to Maharasthra State for engineering and minimum 50% marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology for health science and Pharmacy courses. Candidates who have appeared for qualifying examination i.e. HSC (Std. XII) or its equivalent examination during the academic year and whose results are not declared till the last date of submission of application form are eligible to appear for MHT-CET 2012, however for admission to first year of degree courses in Engineering/Technology, such candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria as applicable. Maharashtra State candidates and OMS candidates (Outside Maharashtra State) are eligible to appear for the MHT-CET 2012 conducted by the Competent Authority of Government of Maharashtra. Even though Outside Maharashtra State candidates are eligible to appear for the MHT-CET 2012, it is specifically made clear that such OMS candidates will not able to participate in the Centralized Admission Process. The NRI candidates are eligible to apply for admission against the Institute level seats, only in Unaided Private Engineering Colleges/Institutes.
MHT CET 2012 Exam Pattern
The MHCET will consist of three question papers. The time allowed will be one and half hours for each paper. Each paper is of 100 marks - Paper I :- Physics & Chemistry (50 marks each), Paper II :- Biology (Botany & Zoology - 50 marks each), Paper III:- Mathematics(100 Marks)

MHT CET 2012 Syllabus
Syllabus of the exams will be the same as for the current year for HSC examination of HSC Boards of Maharashtra. The medium for examination shall be English or Marathi or Urdu for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. However, Mathematics paper shall be in English only.
