ATMA 2011 Description

The members of Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) have for long felt the need for a high quality test, the scores of which can be used in their admission process, as a reliable predictor of academic performance in post-graduate management programmes. In response to this need, AIMS offers the AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA), as a credible, comprehensive and single-window test for admissions to different postgraduate management programmes. The administration and scoring is professionally done, and the results obtained are item-analysed by a faculty team to ensure discriminating validity of the items, and of the test as a whole. This has been an ongoing process over the last six years, so that it can be claimed that the ATMA scores supplied are highly dependable indicators of the candidate’s suitability for management education and career. The candidates will be supplied with the percentile scores in comprehension, verbal reasoning, numerical reasoning, analysing and synthesizing ability. ATMA has been approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India for admission on All India Basis to the MBA / PGDM and other Postgraduate Programmes like MCA.

ATMA 2011 Conducting Body

ATMA (AIMS Test for Management Admissions) is conducted by the Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) .

ATMA 2011 Eligibility

  1. The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  2. The candidates should have possessed a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent examination under 10+2+3 scheme with any stream (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com, B.Tech), from any University recognized by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
  3. The candidates, who are appearing in final year of qualifying examination or have appeared for the examination, are also eligible to apply for ATMA exam.

ATMA 2011 Exam Pattern

  • The question paper consists of 170 questions multiple choice-type questions spread over six sections.
  • Each question carries four options in which the candidates have to find out the right answer.
  • The question paper is divided into analytical reasoning, verbal, and quant.
  • The candidates have to answer all the questions, within three hours duration, with only HB pencil on OMR answer sheet.
  • In ATMA Exam, there is negative marking, that is, one-third mark is deducted for each wrong answer.
  • The medium of instruction in the entrance examination is English.

ATMA 2011 Fees Details

Candidates desirous of taking ATMA should first collect ONLINE application bulletin, which will be available from October from different ATMA Offices throughout India, different IMS Learning Centres, Axis Bank, Career Forum, Cerebral Heights, Career Launcher and AIMS member institutes by paying Rs.900/- (Rupees nine hundred only) in cash or by sending a demand draft for Rs.950/- (Rupees nine hundred and fifty only) (includes postal charges) favouring " ATMA" payable at ATMA Office, Panji.

ATMA 2011 Extra Information

(Indicate your name, address, telephone / mobile no., on the reverse of the demand draft).

The admission kit contains the Bulletin with information about ATMA, an adhesive sticker with Personal ID code affixed inside of the Bulletin front cover. When you purchase ATMA admission kit, you will be given a receipt by the sales centre. The same is required to be submitted to the invigilator at the time of examination along with the admit card. Inside the admission kit, there will be self adhesive sticker with Personal ID code affixed inside of the Bulletin front cover. For applying online, candidates should log on to ATMA website www.atma-aims.org. The specimen online application form for ATMA with duly filled in data of a specimen candidate is enclosed in the Annexure II of the bulletin. Please read it carefully before filling in the online application form which is provided on the website. Please download a copy of the filled up online application for your reference. Candidates are responsible for the accuracy of the information provided in the Form.

QUANTITATIVE:

Geometry, (Lines, angles, Triangles, Spheres, Rectangles, Cube, Cone etc) Ratios and Proportion, Ratios, Percentages, In-equations Quadratic and linear equations Algebra, Profit & Loss, Averages, Percentages, Partnership, Time-Speed-Distance, Work and time, Number system, HCF, LCM, Geometric Progression, Arithmetic progression, Arithmetic mean, Geometric mean , Harmonic mean, Median, Mode, Number Base System, BODMAS, Mensuration, Alligation & Mixtures, Work, Pipes and Cisterns, Simple Interest & Compound Interest, Set Theory, Venn Diagram, Instalment Payments, Partnership, Clocks, Probability, Permutations & Combinations, Topics like Trigonometry, Vectors, Binomial Expansion, Co-ordinate geometry, Logarithm, Calendar, Maxima & Minima Progression, Surds & Indices and Complex numbers.

DI AND REASONING :

Data Interpretation based on text, Data Interpretation based on graphs and tables. Graphs can be Column graphs, Bar Graphs, Line charts, Pie Chart, Graphs representing Area, Venn Diagram, etc. Critical reasoning, Visual reasoning, Assumption-Premise-Conclusion, Assertion and reasons, Statements and assumptions, identifying valid inferences , identifying Strong arguments and Weak arguments, Statements and conclusions, Cause and Effect, Identifying Probably true, Probably false, definitely true, definitely false kind of statement, Linear arrangements, Matrix arrangements. Puzzles, Syllogisms, Functions, Family tree - identifying relationship among group of people, Symbol Based problems, Coding and decoding , Sequencing , identifying next number in series, etc.

ENGLISH :

Comprehension of passage ( Poems can also come). Verbal Reasoning, Syllogisms , Contextual usage, Analogies, Antonyms, Fill In the Blanks, Jumbled paragraphs with 4 or 5 sentences, Jumbled paragraphs (6 sentences with first and last fixed), Sentence Correction, Foreign language words used in English, Sentence completion, Sentence correction, odd man out, idioms, one word substitution, Different usage of same word etc.
