IBSAT 2011 Description

IBSAT is for 2 hours duration and is aimed to test the applicant's ability in quantitative techniques, data interpretation, data adequacy, vocabulary, analytical reasoning and reading comprehension.

IBSAT 2011 Conducting Body

IBSAT is an aptitude test conducted by the Federation of Universities (FedUni) to select the eligible candidates for the courses offered by the affiliated institutes.

IBSAT 2011 Eligibility

Eligibility for different courses are different.

MBA Program

Graduates (any discipline) in English medium with 50% and above aggregate marks. Final year students awaiting results can also apply, provided they complete their graduation requirements before last April. The last date for submitting the proof of graduation is October, failing which the provisional admission will automatically stand cancelled.

Executive PG Program

Graduates (any discipline) in English medium with 50% and above aggregate marks. Three years or more of executive level work experience after graduation. Age should be more than 25 years as on May.

Ph.D. Program

Candidates having 60% and above marks in a two year postgraduate degree/diploma in Management are eligible for admission into the program. Candidates with professional qualifications like CFA, CA, ICWA, and CS are also eligible.

Integrated MBA-PhD. Program

A bachelor’s degree with medium of instruction as English, from any discipline, with 60% and above as calculated by respective University. Students in their final year Bachelor’s degree course are not eligible to apply.

• IBSAT consists of multiple choice questions.
• IBSAT is for 2 hours duration.
• Test is aimed to test the applicant's ability in quantitative techniques, data interpretation, data adequacy, vocabulary, analytical reasoning and reading comprehension.
• There is negative marking in the test.

Online application:

Applicants can apply online by filling up the application form available at website and make payment of Rs 1,200/- towards the cost using credit/debit card (visa/master card/Citibank card) through secure internet payment gateway. Applicants applying through online should attach their scanned color photograph along with the online application. The IBSAT application material will be sent to such applicants

Download of application form:

Alternatively, applicants can download the application form from website, complete it and send it to the admission officer along with the demand draft of Rs 1,200/- towards the cost (demand draft in favor of IUCF A/c IBS payable at Hyderabad). The IBSAT application material will be sent to such applicants

How to apply

Applicants interested in appearing for IBSAT can apply by any one of the following methods.

OMR Application Form

Applicants are required to fill up the OMR Application Form enclosed and send it to the Admissions Officer, IBSAT Office (address given on the left hand side). The self attested copies of X Class, XII Class and graduation marks sheets are to be enclosed along with the OMR Application Form. The students in the final year of graduation may enclose the marksheets up to the current semester/ year.

IBSAT 2011 Syllabus

Test is based on verbal,quantitive aptitude,and logical and data interpretation,english essay.

QUANTITATIVE:

Geometry, (Lines, angles, Triangles, Spheres, Rectangles, Cube, Cone etc) Ratios and Proportion, Ratios, Percentages, In-equations Quadratic and linear equations Algebra, Profit & Loss, Averages, Percentages, Partnership, Time-Speed-Distance, Work and time, Number system, HCF, LCM, Geometric Progression, Arithmetic progression, Arithmetic mean, Geometric mean , Harmonic mean, Median, Mode, Number Base System, BODMAS, Mensuration, Alligation & Mixtures, Work, Pipes and Cisterns, Simple Interest & Compound Interest, Set Theory, Venn Diagram, Instalment Payments, Partnership, Clocks, Probability, Permutations & Combinations, Topics like Trigonometry, Vectors, Binomial Expansion, Co-ordinate geometry, Logarithm, Calendar, Maxima & Minima Progression, Surds & Indices and Complex numbers.

Data Interpretation based on text, Data Interpretation based on graphs and tables.
Graphs can be Column graphs, Bar Graphs, Line charts, Pie Chart, Graphs representing Area, Venn Diagram, etc. Critical reasoning, Visual reasoning, Assumption-Premise-Conclusion, Assertion and reasons, Statements and assumptions, identifying valid inferences , identifying Strong arguments and Weak arguments, Statements and conclusions, Cause and Effect, Identifying Probably true, Probably false, definitely true, definitely false kind of statement, Linear arrangements, Matrix arrangements. Puzzles, Syllogisms, Functions, Family tree - identifying relationship among group of people, Symbol Based problems, Coding and decoding , Sequencing , identifying next number in series, etc.

ENGLISH :

Comprehension of passage ( Poems can also come).
Verbal Reasoning, Syllogisms , Contextual usage, Analogies, Antonyms, Fill In the Blanks, Jumbled paragraphs with 4 or 5 sentences, Jumbled paragraphs (6 sentences with first and last fixed), Sentence Correction, Foreign language words used in English, Sentence completion, Sentence correction, odd man out, idioms, one word substitution, Different usage of same word etc.
