Assam JET 2011 Description

Assam Joint Admission Test, popularly known as Assam JAT, is conducted for admitting students to various undergraduate programs in the fields of engineering, medical, dental and ayurvedic colleges as well as in the NIT, Guwahati quota. Assam JAT is conducted by the Director of Technical Education (DTE), Assam. Test center for the exam is decided by DTE Assam. The questions in the entrance test are asked from Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English of the general standard of 10+2 examination, of various educational Boards of India.

Assam JET 2011 Eligibility

• Be an Indian Citizen and a permanent resident of Assam.
• Pass the Higher Secondary Examination of the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council or its equivalent, in which the subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics have been cleared in the same sitting.
• Pass the qualifying Examination securing at least 50% (45% in case of SC and 40% in case of ST) marks in the aggregate of the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the same sitting.
• Must appear in the Joint Admission Test conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam and be selected for admission.
• Must not be above 21 years or below 17 years of age on the First August of the year in which the candidate seeks admission. Upper age limit mentioned above are relaxed to 22 years in case of B.Sc. passed Candidates. Upper age limit mentioned in above are relaxed by 3 years for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Candidates.

Assam JET 2011 Exam Pattern

The JAT Paper will have three papers containing 100 objective type questions with four options from each of subjects, physics, chemistry and mathematics, of the 12th standard. The paper will be asked in English only. The exam lasts for three hours. There is no negative marking for any incorrect answer.

Assam JET 2011 Fees Details

It can be obtained on payment of application fee of Rs. 600/- (Rs. 300/- for SC/ST candidates) in the desingned branches of Canara Bank in the country. The application material can also be obtained by Post from JAM Office, IIT Delhi, Hauz khas, New Delhi - 110016 by sending a request along with a self - addressed slip and a crossed Demand Draft of Rs.650/- (Rs. 350/- for SC/ST candidates) drawn in favour of Chairman JAM, IIT Delhi payable at New Delhi, which must reach, JAM Office, IIT Delhi. Candidates can also apply online from the websitehttp://jam.iitd.ac.in.
