JCECE 2011 Description

Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination is conducted by JCECE Board for admission into Engineering, Medical, Dental, Homeopathy, Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Forestry and Agricultural degree programs at undergraduate level. The scores of the entrance examination are accepted by various government and private institutions of the state of Jharkhand, including Birsa Agriculture University (Kanke), Ranchi. Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Test is frequently conducted in the month of May-June.

This entrance Examination is organized by Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board.

JCECE 2011 Eligibility

For Bachelor of Engineering (BE)

The candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board, with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as subjects of study. There is no age limit for the candidates.

For MBBS/BDS

The candidates, who have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board with not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English taken together, are eligible to appear in the entrance exam. The minimum age requirement of the candidates is 17 years.

For Bachelor of Vetenary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.VSc & AH)

The candidates are required to pass 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as subjects of study. The candidates are required to attain minimum of 17 years of age.

For Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Forestry (B. Sc Agri & B. Sc Forestry)

The candidates, who have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology as subjects of study, are eligible. The minimum age requirement of the candidate is 17 years.

JCECE 2011 Exam Pattern

The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination is held in two stages - preliminary and final examination.

Preliminary Examination

The preliminary entrance test paper is fragmented into four parts –Mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology.

1. All parts carry objective type multiple choice questions.
2. In total, test paper consists of 200 questions.
3. Which have to be answered within 2 hours and 30 minutes, which is the duration of the paper.
4. Negative marking is also there for every wrong answers.
5. Based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the preliminary examination, a separate list of the engineering and medical candidates is prepared after evaluation.
6. The candidates, who successfully qualify the preliminary examination, are eligible to appear in the final examination.

Final Examination

The final examination is held on a different date. The candidates have to appear in the final examination, which is divided into three parts. The questions are asked from the combination of subjects - Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The candidates aspiring to pursue course in the medical field have to appear in a paper that consists of questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The questions in final examination are also of objective type and the system of negative marking for wrong answers attempted by a candidate prevails.

JCECE 2011 Fees Details

Application form may be obtained in person from last week of  March to first week of April at the selected post offices after payment of prospectus cum examination fee as mention in the fee table given below.

Important notes

• Those candidates who want to appear in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology stream, (PCMB group) have to submit additional demand draft of Rs 50/- in favour of Controller of examination, JCECEB payable at Ranchi as additional exam fee.
• In case of such candidate must write their name, application form on the back side of demand draft.
• If they did not submit required fee, the board will treat him/her as PCB group candidate and he/she will not be allowed to appear in Mathematics paper examination.
• No draft will be accepted in any circumstances after last date of receipt of application form.

They follow the basic syllabus of senior secondry examination. Candidates should have sound knowledge of the following topics :

Topics in Physics

General Properties of Matter, Heat, Measurement and Kinematics, Mechanics, Wave motion, Sound, Light, Laws of Motion, Gravitation, Oscillations, Thermodynamics, Magnetic Effect of Current and Magnetism, Electron Physics, Radiation, Optics, Semiconductor Devices, Atomic Physics, Electrostatics, and Current Electricity.

Topics in Chemistry

Basic Concepts and Atomic Structure, Periodic Properties of Elements and Hydrogen, S-Block, P-Block, D-Block and F-Block Elements, Electrochemistry, Chemical Equilibrium, Stereochemistry, Laws of Gases, Functional Groups Containing Oxygen, Halogens, Nitrogen, Polymers, Purification and Characterization of Organic Compounds, Chemical Kinetics, Redox Reactions, and Environmental Chemistry.

Topics in Mathematics

Complex Numbers, Sequences and Series, Permutations, Combinations, Binomial Theorem, Sets, Relations and Functions, Matrices and Determinants, Linear equations, Boolean Algebra, Trigonometric functions, Three Dimensional Geometry, Statistics, Vectors, Differential Equations, Integrals, Lines, Circles and Conic sections.

Topics in Biology

Cell, Ecosystem, Photosynthesis, Transpiration, Origin of Life, Physiology of Plants, Cell Differentiation, Physiology of Animals, Genetics, Mutation, Systematic study of Algae, Bacteria, and Fungi etc, Reproduction, Biodiversity and Conservation, Animal Tissues, and Organic Evolution.
