VITEEE 2011 Description

Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) generally helds on Mid April. Vellore Institute of technology(VIT) provides Admission to B.Tech. Degree Programme based on VITEEE conducted all over India. VITEEE is a two and a half hour multiple choice type exam. Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is the first educational institution in India to get international accreditations for its programmes.

VITEEE 2011 Conducting Body

Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) conducts common entrance examination known as VITEEE for admission into various courses in engineering and technology. The programs are offered at various schools of engineering and technology.

VITEEE 2011 Eligibility

1. A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with a minimum average of 60% of marks in Physics, Chemical and Mathematics or Biology (PCM/PCB).
2. A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with 50% average marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM/PCB) for candidates belonging to SC/ST, students hailing from Jammu Kashmir and from the North Eastern states.
3. Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) candidates are eligible only for B.Tech Bioinformatics, Bio-Medical engineering and Biotechnology programmes.
4. Candidates appearing for the 10+2 examination in March/April are also eligible to apply.
5. Candidates should not be more than 20 years old.

VITEEE 2011 Exam Pattern

• In the test only objective type Questions are asked.
• There are 120 questions and carries one mark each.
• Questions are based on State Board of Higher Secondary school and CBSE syllabi only
• There is no negative marking.

VITEEE 2011 Fees Details

The application form can be obtained by any of the following means:

1. From the designated branches of Post Offices on cash payment of Rs.750/-. Details of branches are available on information brochure and in the website.
2. By sending a crossed Demand Draft for Rs.750/- drawn in favour of “VIT University”, payable at Vellore, to the Admission Officer with a request letter containing the full address of the applicant.
3. By handing over a DD for Rs.750/- in person at VIT University, Vellore or at the Chennai Office.

• Advertisement given regarding issue of application forms, important dates etc., in all leading newspapers all over India and notified in the VIT website.
• Applications can be obtained from selected Post Offices /  may be obtained by post from VIT.
• Entrance exam conducted in major cities all over India.
• Publication of results in leading websites.
• Call for counselling in batches and allotment of branches on the basis of the rank.
