What is JEE (Advanced)?
IIT Joint Entrance Exam for admissions to undergraduate programmes at the prestigious IITs, and ISMU Dhanbad is now conducted as two-phase test. The first part is called the JEE (Main) which is conducted by CBSE and is done both in online and offline mode. The second part is called the JEE (Advanced) which is conducted only offline. Selected 1.5 lakh top rankers from all categories from the first test, (JEE Main) will be eligible for second test JEE (Advanced)
The JEE (Advanced) will have two objective type papers. Each paper will consist of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Duration of each paper will be 3-hours. Question papers will be in both English and Hindi.
Admissions to IITs will be based only on category wise All India Rank (AIR) in JEE (Advanced) subject to the condition that such candidates are in the top 20 percentile of successful candidates of their Boards in applicable categories.

- The first test - JEE (Main): Month of April, 2013 (both offline and online)
- The second test - JEE (Advanced): June 2, 2013 (only offline)
