Arange of scholarships are on offer at the Master's (MTech, MS and MA) and PhD level in engineering, natural sciences, humanities and social sciences. Scholarships for the Master's programmes include a full-tuition and fee-waiver as well as a tuition fee and special fee waiver.

The full-tuition and fee-waivers are merit-based scholarships that will cover a student's full academic tuition fees and hostel fees for two years. However, it does not cover the admission fee or the refundable security deposit.

The scholarships will be launched on May 2, Wednesday, by The Shiv Nadar University (SNU). Nikhil Sinha, VC, Shiv Nadar University says, "In order to be eligible for these scholarships, candidates need to have a minimum of a first-class in their respective UG programmes. Along with this, candidates are also required to submit the evidence of their research work, academic performance , research publications and letters of references."

Total value of the scholarships over two years, for the MTech programmes amounts to Rs 6,70,000 and for MS and MA programmes, Rs 5,00,000. Additionally, students would be required to pay mess/ food charges.

Tuition fee and special fee waiver is another scholarship on offer at the Master's level. Students with high scholastic achievements will be awarded with these scholarships , which would cover the tuition fee and special fee for two years. Total value of scholarship over two years for MTech programmes amounts to Rs 4,70,000 and Rs 3,00,000 for MS and MA programmes.

Research quotient

For PhD, the total scholarship amount, over four years, in engineering programmes amounts to Rs 9,40,000. For natural sciences programmes, it is Rs 6,00,000 and for humanities and social sciences programmes, the scholarship offered would be Rs 6,00,000.

Apart from these, the university will also offer fellowships to students applying for Master's and PhD programmes. Master's students will receive a postgraduate fellowship of 1.65 lakh per-annum for two years for working as a research or teaching assistant to an SNU faculty. Doctoral students will receive an internationally competitive research fellowship of Rs 5.45 lakh per-annum for four years for working as a research or teaching associate of the SNU faculty.
